Choosing the right wig options

Choosing the right options for your dream custom wig can be overwhelming, especially if you're new to wigs. Like selecting a diamond, choosing options for your wig requires some understanding and appreciation for details.  you're not sure what options to choose for your new wig, read the following information. If you still have questions, contact us and we'll be happy to help you.

CAP SIZE:
You have the option to choose standard cap measurements (S,M,L) or provide your own head measurements. For standard cap sizes we recommend that you measure your head circumference. Once you know that important measurement you'll know which size is best. Most head sizes are 21” (small) 22” (medium/ average), 23” (large),  24" (extra large). Half sizes are normal as well. Example would be 21.5 circumference. If you have a half size, size up.

The most important measurement we use is the circumference. Please make sure this is the correct measurement. You wig will not fit without it.

If you wish to provide your own measurements, once you place your order, you will receive an email requesting your measurements. No worries if you don't know how to measure your head. We'll send details explaining how to properly measure your head for a perfect fit.

CAP CONSTRUCTION:
Deciding if you want a closure or a frontal can be challenging, especially if you don't know the difference between the two. Size is the most obvious difference between a frontal and closure. A closure is usually temple to temple, the standard size is 4"x4, however we also offer 5x5 and 6x6 options for more versatility if you don't want the full experience of a frontal. With closures, there is a smaller area, where your parting is limited to, so you can only part where you have, so this is usually temple to temple. A frontal is ear to ear, the standard size is 13x4. Frontals give you more versatility as far as parting and styles but may require installation by a professional.

LACE COLOR
The purpose of the lace is to imitate your scalp color, not your skin tone. For a better match part your hair, and look at the scalp color before making your selection.

Transparent:
Transparent lace can be tinted to any color but is ideal for lighter and/or fair skinned complexions.
Medium Brown:
The lace color of the medium brown lace is medium brown, which is darker than the transparent lace. Its suitable for darker complexions.
HD Lace:
HD stands for "high definition". HD lace is a premium lace material that is virtually undetectable when applied to the scalp. It is much thinner, lighter, and delicate compared to conventional swiss lace.

LENGTH
Decide where you would like the hair to fall on you once installed, keep in mind your height and body structure should be factored in when determining hair length. Our hair is available in lengths from 10 Inches to 30 inches.

WIG DENSITY

Wig density refers to how much hair is used on the wig cap to create fullness. Hair density is also called hair thickness. The perception of density determined is by the type of hair used and how it is styled. For example, curly hair and hair spray creates more volume and fullness. Curly, wavy, and kinky textured hair expands when combed out and appears thicker. Silky straight hair textures have less volume and fullness. Therefore, two wigs with the exact hair density will have different volume appearance based on the hair style and texture. The average healthy human head of hair is considered to be between 100%-130%.

In terms of bundles, the following can be referenced:

150%
2 bundles (10"-16")
3 bundles (18"-24")
4 bundles (26"-30")

Bundles can be added or removed accordingly for heavier or lighter density.

PARTING STYLE

Freestyle- No defined parting; can be styled and parted as you desire any direction.

Middle Part - A clean and defined thin center parting in the unit

Left Part-  A clean and defined single narrow curved left part

Right Part - A clean and defined single narrow curved right part

The parting style you choose can be changed if you decide that you want to try something different. This is just the initial part that we place in the wig when styling it.

DESIRED CUT, COLOR, AND STYLE

Select the color, style, and cut you would like. If you do not see the option that you would like then select other and write it in the notes sections. Additional charges may apply to options not listed. We will confirm this with you during our initial contact after your order is placed.

OTHER CUSTOMIZATIZATIONS

Bleached Knots -Bleached knots help make the hair on your wig look less detectable. They won't be clear or totally invisible. When hair is tied to the lace, there is a dark knot where the hair is secured. Bleaching or "lightening" these knots reduces the visibility of this knot, thus helping the wig look more natural.

Baby Hair- If you desire to have baby hairs added to your wig we can do that for you. It just comes down to personal preference. Baby hairs help further the illusion of naturalness. These short hairs are hand tied on the perimeter of the wig. The hairs can be brushed into the rest of the hairs on the wig, or you can separate them and brush them towards your face.

Preplucked Hairline- All custom wigs arrive with a preplucked hairline. This complimentary upgrade increases the natural look of your wig. The hairline is customized to replicate a natural hairline with all its unique dips and groves, along with a lower density around the hairline for the most natural look possible. The purpose of this is to take away any harsh lines around the perimeter of the lace wig so that it gives you a more flawless application.
